Curriculum Coverage

We believe that the most effective way of getting students ready for a rapidly changing world is to give students a broad education, covering a wide range of disciplines and subjects. The comprehensive knowledge and skills developed by students through exposure to a cohesively planned and well-resourced curriculum will give them the flexibility to an ever-changing future. This emphasis on breadth at Kings Langley School can be seen in the importance given to the extensive range of subjects studied at KS3 for the full three years.

Please see below curriculum overviews for years 7, 8 and 9 at Kings Langley School. These shows the topics that will be covered for each subject.

At Key Stage 4 students have to study mathematics, English literature and language, science and RE, which they all take as GCSEs.

The students pick options and to ensure a continued breadth, we promote the English Baccalaureate encouraging students to continue with their studying of a language. Students then make a choice between history or geography.

Students study the full complement of 10 GCSE with any remaining GCSEs being picked from our subject list of art; business studies; computer studies; drama; geography; history; music; PE; and triple science.

Please see below the curriculum overviews for Key Stage 4. These show the topics that would be covered if your child studied these subjects.
